Preparation Method

  • Soak the chana dhal for six hours.
  • Pressure cook the chana and keep aside.
  • Chop the onions finely and the tomatoes into medium size.
  • Heat a pan with two tablespoon of Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Temper cinnamon, onion and fry.
  • To this add ginger garlic paste.
  • Add tomatoes and fry well.
  • To this add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and fry for few more minutes.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • Grind all the fried spices together.
  • Heat another pan with rest of the Idhayam Sesame Oil, when it become hot add fennel, ground masala chana dhal, required amount of water, salt and stir well.
  • Allow it to boil.
  • When the gravy thickens,remove from fire and serve.
