Preparation Method

  • Wash the sundaikkai and crush it slightly.
  • Soak tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Grind the onion and cumin seed coarsely.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Temper mustard, add  fenugreek, curry leaves, sundaikkai and fry for five minutes.
  • Add the ground masala and stir.
  • Pour the tamarind extract, chilli powder,  turmeric powder, salt and allow it to boil.
  • When the sundaikkais are done and the gravy thickens, remove from fire and serve hot with rice.
