Preparation Method

  • Pressure cook toor dhal with turmeric powder, until soft
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Peel the shallots and keep aside.
  • Dice the tomatoes into four.
  • Slit green chillies.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame oil and temper  mustard, pepper corns, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  • Saute shallot and tomato.
  • Pour the tamarind extract, add chilli powder, salt and stir well.
  • Allow it to boil for five minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
