Preparation Method

  • Soak tamarind in a cup of water.
  • Extract the juice and add two cups of water.
  • Pound cumin seed , coriander seed, pepper, garlic, curry leaves and red chilli.
  • Mix pepper and asafoetida to the tamarind extract.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Temper mustard and  add the tamarind extract.
  • Add the pound spices, salt and let it boil.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with steamed hot rice.
  • Can also be served as soup.
