Preparation Method

  • Soak dry beans for six hours.
  • Pressure cook beans till soft.
  • Soak tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Chop big onions finely.
  • Peel garlic and shallots.
  • Slit green chillies.
  • Grind cumin seed coconut and shallots.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil, temper mustard, add fenugreek, curry leaves ,  green chillies, garlic, onion and fry in a low flame till translucent.
  • Add the tamarind extract, ground coconut masala, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and cooked beans.
  • Allow it to boil till the gravy thickens.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot.
