Preparation Method

  • Clean  the mint leaves.
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Add 400ml of water to the tamarind extract.
  • Pound two tablespoons of mint leaves, garlic, cumin seed, pepper and chilli coarsely.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Temper mustard, add the tamarind extract, pound spices, salt, asafoetida, jaggery and allow it to boil.
  • Remove from fire, add rest of the mint leaves and close with a lid.
  • Serve with hot steamed rice.
