Preparation Method

  • Pressure cook the toor dhal along with turmeric powder.
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Dry roast cumin seed, pepper corns, chana dhal, chilli and pound it.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Temper mustard, add cury leaves and asafoetida.
  • Pour the tamarind extract.
  • Mash the tomatoes and add it to the tamarind extract.
  • Add the pound spices, toor dhal, salt and stir well.
  • Allow it to boil for three minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
