Preparation Method

  • Combine water, gram flour and dilute to a watery consistency.
  • Add a teaspoon of chilli powder, salt, asafoetida and turmeric powder. Mix well.
  • Beat the curd.
  • Grind together grated coconut and red chilli to a fine paste.
  • Dice onion and green chillies finely.
  • Mix together gram flour, salt, onion, green chillies, few amount of water and knead it to a smooth dough.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • When it become hot, take a small ball of the dough, make into small bondas and deep fry in oil.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with the watery gram flour batter.
  • Let it boil until the raw smell goes and let it thicken. Add curd and stir well.
  • When it starts to boil (don’t allow to boil) flip the bondas.
  • Remove from fire and serve.
