Preparation Method

  • Chop the cluster beans to one and half inch length.
  • Chop the shallots and tomatoes.
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Pressure cook the toor dhal.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Temper mustard, cumin seed and curry leaves.
  • Saute shallots, tomatoes and fry.
  • To this add the cluster beans and fry for five minutes.
  • Transfer the cluster beans to the toor dhal, add sambar powder, turmeric powder, tamarind extract, salt and close with the lid.
  • When it whistles once,remove from fire
  • Remove the weight, transfer to a bowl and serve.
