Preparation Method

  • Chop the stems of greens and drumstick to an inch length.
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Dice the tomatoes and shallots.
  • Soak the rice fryums in water.
  • Slit the green chillies.
  • Boil the mandi.
  • Add the thattaipayar and cook.
  • When the thattaipayar is done add the chopped, brinjal, shallots, raw banana, mango, tomato, green chilli and allow it cook.
  • Add the soaked fryums, stems of greens, drumstick and let it to boil.
  • When it is done add the tamarind extract and salt and allow it to boil until it comes to a thick consistency.
  • Heat another pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Temper mustard, add urad dhal, asafoetida and red chilli.
  • Add this to the mandi stir and serve hot.
