Preparation Method

  • Peel the outer skin of the banana flower. Discard the thin long bud and chop it.
  • Mix together butter milk and water.
  • Immerse the chopped banana flower in butter milk.
  • In a pressure cooker, boil three fourth cups of water and cook the chopped banana flower along with salt and turmeric powder.
  • Let it for a whistle.
  • Remove from fire. Open the lid and drain the water.
  • Split red chillies.
  • Chop the green chillies into thin circles.
  • Chop the shallots finely.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Temper mustard, urad dhal, chana dhal and cumin seed.
  • Saute red chillies, green chillies and shallots.
  • Toss the drumstick leaves.
  • Close the pan with a lid and allow the greens to cook.
  • Add the raw banana and stir well.
  • When everything blends together, sprinkle grated coconut.
  • Remove from fire and serve.
