Preparation Method

  • Soak the rice in hot water.
  • Drain the water and keep aside.
  • Grate the coconut.
  • Grind together rice, grated coconut, shallots, salt and fennel to a thick batter.
  • Make the dough into balls.
  • Grease the plantain leaf or polythene sheet with Idhayam Sesame Oil or ghee.
  • Place the ball and pat it to a thick circle.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil, when it becomes hot flip the neypathal and fry till crisp and serve.
