Preparation Method

  • Pressure cook toor dhal with turmeric powder till soft and fluffy.
  • Chop the onions.
  • Slit green chillies.
  • Chop the tomatoes.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam Sesame Oil.  
  • Temper mustard, add pepper corns, curry leaves, onion, asafoetida, green chillies and fry.
  • Add the toor dhal, sambar powder, salt and stir well.
  • Allow it to boil
  • When the sambar thickens add lemon juice, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with Idli or Dosa.
