Preparation Method

  • Soak chana dhal in water for two hours.
  • Chop shallots finely.
  • Slice green chillies to thin circles. 
  • Drain water from the chana dhal and grind it coarsely with salt.
  • Don't add water while grinding.
  • To the batter add fennel, green chillies, shallots, curry leaves and mix well.
  • Make small balls and pat it slightly and keep aside.
  • Heat Idhayam Sesame Oil in a heavy bottomed pan and fry the Vadas in a low flame until crisp and brown on both the sides.
  • Can fry four Vadas at a time.
