Preparation Method

  • Dry roast the moong dhal.
  • Pound the jaggery.
  • Roast the cashew nuts and raisins in two teaspoons of ghee.
  • Dice the coconuts into tiny cubes.
  • Heat a pan with ghee, roast the coconut pieces and keep aside.
  • Cook together the rice and the moong dhal.
  • Cook till soft and mushy.
  • Add the powdered jaggery and stir well.
  • To this add the roasted coconut pieces, cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom powder and ghee.
  • Stir well, remove from fire and serve hot.
