Preparation Method

  • Heat a pan, dry roast moong dhal and keep aside.
  • In a vessel, bring water to boil.
  • Add the rice, salt and roasted moong dhal.
  • Cook until the rice is soft.
  • Remove from fire.
  • Heat a mini pan with ghee.
  • Temper cumin seed, pepper corn, cashew nuts and fry till crisp.
  • Add this to the cooked rice and mix well.
  • Serve hot with sambar.
