Chana dhal 500 gms
Maida 500 gms
Jaggery 500 gms
Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
Ghee as required
Idhayam Sesame Oil 4 teaspoon
Grated coconut ½
Water as required
Preparation Method
For the Dough
In abroad bowl take maida.
Add water and four teaspoons of Idhayam Sesame Oil.
Knead well to make a smooth dough.
Keep aside.
For the Filling
Par boil chana dhal. Drain and allow it to cool.
Grind the chana dhal and jaggery to a thick consistency.
Add a teaspoon of ghee, cardamom powder and grated coconut to the dhal mixture and mix well.
Make into small balls.
Grease a banana leaf with half a teaspoon of Idhayam Sesame Oil.
Take a small ball of the dough, place it on the leaf, and pat it to a thin sheet.
Place the chana balls at the centre and close it with the maida dough from all the sides. Pat it gently into circles.
Make such circles with the rest of the dough.
Heat a dosa pan with ghee, take the bolies from the leaf and flip it to the pan. Drizzle more ghee.
Turn it over and let cook till it turns golden brown.
Serve hot.
