Preparation Method

  • For the Dough
  • In abroad bowl take maida.
  • Add water and four teaspoons of Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Knead well to make a  smooth dough.
  • Keep aside.
  • For the Filling
  • Par boil chana dhal. Drain and allow it to cool.
  • Grind the chana dhal and jaggery to a thick consistency.
  • Add a teaspoon of ghee, cardamom powder and grated coconut to the dhal mixture and mix well.
  • Make into small balls.
  • Grease a banana leaf with half a  teaspoon of Idhayam Sesame Oil.
  • Take a small ball of the dough, place it on the leaf, and pat it to a thin sheet.
  • Place the chana balls at the centre and close it with the maida dough from all the sides. Pat it gently into circles.
  • Make such circles with the rest of the dough.
  • Heat a dosa pan with ghee, take the bolies from the leaf and flip it to the pan. Drizzle more ghee.
  • Turn it over and let cook  till it turns golden brown.
  • Serve hot.
