Preparation Method

  • Smother mutton with curd and salt.
  • Dice two of the onion separately and the other onion separately.
  • Chop the tomatoes finely.
  • Pound the pepper coarsely.
  • Slit the green chillies.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • When the oil becomes hot, toss green chillies.
  • Saute two onion, cinnamon, clove and garlic.
  • Add coriander powder, desiccated coconut powder, ginger and fry well.
  • Allow it to cool and grind it.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Saute rest of the onion, chopped ginger and tomatoes.
  • Add the mutton pieces and stir for five minutes.
  • To this add the ground masala, pepper powder salt and turmeric powder.
  • Pour required amount of water and close with a lid until the mutton is cooked.
  • Simmer to a low flame and cook until the gravy thickens.
  • Remove from fire.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
