Preparation Method

  • Cook toor dhal along with tomato and tamarind.
  • Slit green chillies.
  • Split red chillies.
  • Chop onion and garlic.
  • Combine bottle gourd pieces and toor dhal.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Temper mustard, when it splutters add urad dhal, chana dhal, green chillies, red chilli and add it to the toor dhal.
  • Transfer the toor dhal bottle gourd mixture to a pressure cooler.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt and remove form fire when tit whistles once. Serve hot.
