Preparation Method

  • Combine maida, water and salt.
  • Knead it to a stiff dough.
  • Dry roast the rava.
  • Grate the coconut.
  • In a broad vessel take rava, desiccated coconut, sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Take a small ball from the dough.
  • Make into circles with a rolling pin.
  • Place a little amount of the rava mixture.
  • Fold it to a semi circle.
  • Sprinkle water and stick the edges.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil, when it becomes hot, flip the kajjikayalu and deep fry till         crisp and brown.
  • Make such kajjikayalu with rest of the dough and mixture.
  • Serve hot.
