Preparation Method

  • Smother mutton along with curd, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger paste, salt and allow it to marinate for an hour.
  • Dry roast coriander powder.
  • Grind poppy seed to a fine paste.
  • Pound cinnamon, clove and cardamom.
  • Heat a pan with Idhayam sesame oil.
  • Saute onion, fry till golden brown. Add garlic and fry.
  • To this add pound spices, chilli powder and stir well for two minutes.
  • Add the marinated mutton and simmer to a low flame.
  • Pour required amount of water and allow the mutton to cook.
  • Cook till the mutton turns crisp and brown.
  • Remove from fire and serve with pulao or biryani.
