Preparation Method

  • In a bowl take the fish pieces.
  • Soak the tamarind and extract the juice.
  • Dice the onion, garlic and green chilli finely.
  • Grind the tomatoes.
  • Pound together, two teaspoons cumin seed, fenugreek seed, three teaspoon of coriander powder and peppercorn.
  • Heat a broad pan with Idhayam sesame oil temper mustard, half of teaspoon of fenugreek, half a teaspoon of cumin, red chilli and curry leaves.
  • Saute shallots, garlic and green chilli.
  • Pour the tamarind extract, add turmeric powder, one teaspoon of coriander powder, chilli powder, ground tomato paste, salt and allow it to boil.
  • When the oil leaves to the sides flip the fishes.
  • When the fishes are done and the gravy thickens, sprinkle coriander leaves and the pound spices.
  • Stir well.
  • Remove from fire and serve.
