Preparation Method

  • Wash rice and keep aside.
  • Grate the coconut and extract 250 ml of coconut milk.
  • Fry the cashew nuts and poppy seed separately in ghee.
  • Chop the onions finely and lengthwise.
  • Slit the green chillies.
  • Heat a pan with a tablespoon of ghee.
  • Temper  cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
  • Saute onions, green chilli and garlic.
  • Remove from fire and keep aside.
  • In a vessel take coconut milk, 125 ml of water, salt and add rice.
  • To this add the fried  onion mixture close with a lid and let it to boil.
  • Keep in a low flame until rice is done.
  • Add the fried poppy seed and cashew nuts and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Remove from fire and serve hot.
