Natural spices have been shown to be packed with antioxidants and other healthy compounds; they are natures way of adding delicious flavor to your food without adding fat or calories. Indian cuisine is among the best in the world when it comes to incorporating a variety of spices; when it comes to spices, there are very few cuisines in the world that rival the intricacies of Indian food.
If you are watching your fat intake, then make sure that you aren't overdoing the coconut milk in your Indian recipes. Coconut milk is a lot healthier than dairy milk, but some people just can't deal with all the fat in it. If you use coconut milk in moderation, it can add great flavor to all of your dishes without adding too much fat. If you are making food at home, you could always try to substitute low-fat coconut milk for the real thing. It is a little soupy, but low-fat coconut milk tastes just like the real thing.
Beef and chicken recipes are great, but Indian cuisine offers many vegetarian options as well. If you feel a little daring, try a vegetarian dish that has some vegetables in it that you have never heard of. Vegetables are a staple in Indian cuisine; that means that they know how to cook them perfectly. Indian vegetables are unlike any you have ever had before; they are tangy, spicy, sweet and delicious. When you go to an Indian restaurant, you always know that the vegetables you get are fresh and properly prepared.
